Muncy probably should be a low gold. He's got some crazy power and is a good hitter overall. He's probably at least a high gold hitter between avg and power. Doesn't have much speed and is probably a bronze defender.
The one to the wall is the more egrigious of the 2 videos. It's wildly unacceptable for that to happen to a diamond fielder as often as it does. I sometimes wonder what these guys are doing that they don't respond to stuff like this.
Considering his number of AB, 17 and 20 HR really isn't that many. That's 1 HR every 30 PA roughly. That ranked him 100th out of 202 mlb players last year with over 150 PA. You could probably argue those numbers into the upper 50s or low 60s when you factor in his start to 2019. At the same time, they aren't going to go nuts with making massive changes to a player based on 75 PA. If he continues tearing up the league, he'll probably be a high silver or low gold by June or July. Expecting it to happen overnight is foolish.
I agree that the idea was good, but the execution was lacking a bit. A couple days ago I was on 4 hr 4 sb with Hank, I had all the HR done by teh last 2 games but needed 2 steals...literally every time I was up to bat I had a slow mofo on 1b. so basically i needed to hit a gapper and then stop at 1b to even have a chance to get the steals. I'm still stuck on that one. I also have struggled quite a bit on the Harper HR vs hamels on all-star. Dude must have like 7 power against lefties...it's also super fun trying to hit circle changes inside off the plate over and over again.
I actually think the balance they've struck with these bi-weekly or so conquest maps is pretty awesome. Sure the final reward isn't overly special, but you get other stuff along the way and the hidden packs are an excellent bonus. Everyone loves packs.
All that said, if Cain was a Yankee he'd probably be an 87 or 88 by now...
I don't think Cain has enough power or speed to be a diamond player. His defense is definitely underrated, he doesn't have the high end speed of a Hamilton...but gets better jumps and takes better routes and is still an incredible athlete. He obvious can hit and has a good obp, but I don't think the steals or power is there to boost him any higher. I think 83/84 makes sense for him. This coming from a Brewer fan btw...
If a player gets a boost on a ratings update week, their price usually goes up quite a bit. Literally every other live series card will probably tank in price right after roster update. It's actually a great time to make stubs, wait until rock bottom and buy a bunch of stuff...then sell on Tuesday or Wednesday next week. If you have a bankroll and patience...you'll make out pretty well using that as a general rule.
I've thought about that, many people have guys Mays/Henderson/Gwynn type players in the outfield. Also most teams have better hitters that are hitting the ball harder, so less looping line drives that go over teh shortstop or 2b but fall in front of the outfielder. That said, maybe SDS needs to tweak their sliders or tweak something a bit. It's going to be boring playing a game that's basically a HR derby again. I don't care how good your outfield defense is, plenty of balls should get down in the outfield.
The lineouts...for real. Especially the last handful of days. It's almost like they reverted back to 2018 hitting at some point in the last week or so.
I generally agree with the posters saying people shouldn't be overly concerned that some people with influence are getting favorable treatment. It's simply what it is and there's not much we can do about it. That said, it's pretty terrible that SDS is/was actively trying to cover for these guys by muting users that commented on it and calling it a witch hunt. There are plenty of good people in this community that would do well as sony partners, maybe they should get rid of the cheating clowns(i believe I've seen on here that one of them makes openly racist comments as well) and pick some new people to be partners. Just a suggestion, frankly I don't care who their partners are as I don't watch them stream or pay any attention to them.
Frankly, the best way to combat this if you don't care for these streamers is to stop following/watching their channels. Boycotting stubs or the game will never work, but if you boycott their channels...that could potentially work and it'll hit their wallet eventually.
I agree in general(aside from the market average nonsense), but I'll be curious how it plays out with WS rewards, BR flawless rewards, etc. Everyone will have plenty of stubs, what reason is there to sell your card? Those types of rewards I think will be incredibly expensive when the time comes.
Average is probably 600ish, I would also guess more like 5-10% of players make WS at most...not even close to 20%. I could see 20% making it to CS but that's still probably high.
Some of these comments are ridiculous. The locking on to fly balls is an issue with quite a few warning track and foul line plays. I've had it too...where no matter what you do they simply won't lock on in that spot. I've been on both ends of it, and always feel for the other guy when it happens to them. Thanks for posting the video, hopefully SDS addresses these.
I find it incredibly obnoxious that SDS hasn't addressed this yet. They throw out this limitation that nobody understands and don't address it as people complain about it. I can understand the purpose behind it, but they should address it and explain how it works.
I think a lot of people have lost stubs over the last few days. So many cards fell over the last few days. You can see tiers where guys are waiting/hoping the price gets back up to a certain point just so they don't lose stubs...and once it does there's like 15 people trying to unload their cards and the price plummets again. I think many prices are artificially held high right now by the flippers...and prices will probably drop pretty quick. I'm so glad I completed collections earlier this week, the market has been tough especially the last week or so.
I think it'd be kinda funny for some of the best players to fly a one of the very low banners like ST. They'd probably shock the heck out of someone in an event.
I don't mind if players quit early, it's not like we need the saves for stat missions or anything. Quit early please so I can move up the ratings and on to the next game quicker.
I've hit pretty well with him, and his fielding really isn't bad. I probably throw out over half of base stealers if not more, and he hasn't allowed passed balls at a higher rate than any of my other catchers.
I faced SS Ryan on HOF difficulty, I couldn't catch up to high fastballs. The guy mixed in just enough curveballs and changeups, along with high fastballs above and in the zone...that I had no chance. I haven't had nearly as much trouble with SS Kershaw as most seem, but he's also the guy that I've made a ton of loud contact against that turned into line drive outs. His ERA against me is probably in the 3's, but it should probably be in the 6's if 100+ exit velo actually resulted in the 600ish BA that it should. I wonder if the H/9 stats make hard hit balls more likely to go right at defenders...because that would be stupid.
I wish the survey had more short answer areas. I would have loved to give feedback that I thought was likely to be read by SDS. Maybe they could do something about weird outfield errors, bunt pop ups, and all of a sudden having every line drive go right at players like it's 2018. It would be nice if they gave a pack or packs, but it's really not necessary. I'm happy to do the survey to try and give feedback that helps the game.
I actually disagree, today felt like 2018 all over again. It was insane how many balls i hit over 110 mph into outs today. I hit one 115 mph into an out. Sure it happens, but shouldn't happen at that consistency.
I was able to get 7m the first time and never got back to it. I figure on restarting to steal 3 million on all star to get to 10m. Definitely poor planning on SDS part to require 10m fans and have to do the map twice. Not a huge deal, just a bit sloppy in my opinion.
Guys probably screw around and throw all kinds of stuff during bullpen sessions and whatnot, he doesn't use his change up in game at all and really hasn't since his rookie year...and even then he barely used it. Safe to say he's basically abandon the pitch and it shouldn't be part of his arsenal in game.
I've found flipping a bit tougher this year. I'm still having success, but there are less good margins and generally less card options to flip, at least at this point. It seems like there are 5 people actively watching and 1 stubbing every good margin out there. It was especially bad over the weekend actually, I honestly think there's a contingent of people that don't even play the game and simply stare at the market all day long. I don't mind doing that during work hours, just can't imagine spending my weekends that way.
That said, I'm about 40k stubs away from completing all collections(except FA). I would probably be able to complete them tomorrow but I figure on building up some cushion and finishing them Wednesday or Thursday...before the update. So there are definitely stubs to be made.
