I sold my 2 Bellinger's yesterday for 11-12K each
I'm planning on going with Tony Gwynn - speed, defense, and contact, exactly what is valued most in this year's game
From what they said in the stream, it seems like they do not know what the exchange rates will be. They said they are waiting to see how many moments they actually release.
As a Pirates fan, this is a must have for me! I'm hoping to get lucky and pack him or hope for his price to drop like the 1st Inning cards did.
I just picked up Alex Bregman. I've struggled with him over his first few games with me, but they were also just some rookie/veteran conquest games to complete the daily missions so I was swinging first pitch every batter.
Moments - there are a lot of quicker ones without having to play 1+ full games
Collections - you get rewarded for 10, 20, and 30 players on each team so you can do that pretty easily and inexpensive. There are other collections you can do (equipment, stadiums, and position collections)
Conquest - check the goals for each one and make sure to knock them out. The one most will probably miss is the goal of stealing a certain number of fans. There is also hidden rewards in each map too.
I haven't had the chance to play the game as much as I'd like so far, but I'm up to bronze 64. Those are the three paths I have been working on. Although, I did just start March to October to give it a try.
I don't remember if the daily missions give you XP or just the program points.
Acuna has been really, really good for me. I just picked up Trea Turner and in his first few games, he has been very effective for me at the top of the lineup. Felipe Vazquez in the pen.
I switch back and forth. Moments can get frustrating if you get stuck on one. Conquest can get monotonous. I usually switch my lineup/rotation around each day to play with different players.
I believe it is just the type of hitter they are
As a Pirates fan, I want to go with Kiner, but his defense is really bad. Common if I remember correctly.
I'm deciding between Ryan, Kershaw, and Ichiro. I'm leaning towards Ryan because he is my favorite all time pitcher.
I'm planning on going with Tony Gwynn - contact, speed, and defense. He will be in my lineup for the rest of the year. I've always been a fan of him as well.
I went with Gossage. He was phenomenal for me in moments. It's a card that will stay in my bullpen for the rest of the year. I used Young a few times in the moments and wasn't crazy about him. (I'm assuming the player I used in moments was that card) There are a number of OF options I prefer over Jones.
Looks like the 23.5" is on sale for $105 right now.
I only tried a couple times last night. My last try last night, I had two outs in the final inning. Batter reached on an error. No biggy, there are two outs. I then gave up a soft liner to the outfield. My guy dives for it, misses it by a mile and the guy on first scores. It was safest to set the controller down and walk away for the night haha
I finally gave in and got a monitor this year. Kept it under $200 and it was well worth it!!
I was shocked and disappointed to see there were no stat missions tied to Team Affinity. It is really underwhelming to be honest.
I belive one of the goals is to steal 5 mil fans
From the ones I completed last night, you can use the cards for multiple collections. I locked some in for the team collections and the position collections (ex: collect X number of silver catchers).
I just picked up Rizzo so I'll try him out for a bit. Definitely a position I need to upgrade though.
select each card (hitting X on each card) then hit advance to lock it in. Nothing will pop up until you collect the entire team. The rewards for partial collections will automatically be added in your stubs.
My first homer was Babe Ruth in his call the shot moment. The first one in an actual game was LS Miggy
Yes, someone on the forum posted a Google Doc they created with all of the options. It also had a bunch of other rewards info. The title of the post is "Team Rewards List"
I'm going to open up all of the freebie packs first to see if I get anything good. I'm still deciding if I want a SP (Nolan Ryan), catcher (Jason Kendall), shortstop (Cal), or 3rd baseman (Chipper).
Me too! I got an early release at 9:00pm so I got 2 games in before midnight last night. Can't wait to really get started tonight though!
