Came back from vacation to see they gave Piazza more power than Junior.............................................................. SDS continues to either be so unbelievably clueless when it comes to baseball, or what seems more likely is they love to just troll the *** out of their customers year after year.

My thoughts exactly

8/27/2019 3:46AM PDT

56 homeruns compared to 40.

630 to 427.

8/27/2019 3:50AM PDT

630 over 22 years 28+ HR per year .538 slugging

427 over 16 years 26+ HR per year .545 slugging

Bro, while I agree the stats are silly..who cares, you can go up n down this game and find flaws in the ratings. Just something we’ll have to accept

Haven't checked but I'm pretty sure SDS counts doubles and triples for power.  So if @BIGHOOV2713 is correct and Piazza had a higher slugging, maybe that is why.

8/27/2019 6:27AM PDT

I know I'm not seeing people actually try and sit here and say that Mike Piazza has more power than Ken Griffey jr............ I know that's not what I'm seeing. and this isn't just any card that they got wrong it's the most popular baseball player in history arguably. If they can't get Griffey's card right..... just *** quit.

8/27/2019 1:43PM PDT

Piazza's best slugging year wasn't even the year they chose, and Griffey's slugging was higher for his, not that I'm even beginning to entertain the idea of the ratings being correct. GTFOH.

8/27/2019 1:49PM PDT

Seriously though, apart from you, no one cares.  Just play the game

I don't see anyone saying that.  I simply said it depends on SDS' formula for figuring out power.  I can assure you it is more than just hitting HR's.  Piazza did have a season he hit .362 with 40 HR's.

8/27/2019 2:25PM PDT

The ratings are always a fantasy. It's why Rick Ankiel can have an 88 overall card, and JT Realmuto, the undisputed best catcher in baseball defensively doesn't get diamond defensive stats

8/27/2019 2:35PM PDT

Nobody cares except for me? lmfaooooooooooooooooooo, yeah, you're probably right. That's why they just had an entire Griffey week, because nobody cares.... right...... So all the previous years when Griffey had more power than Piazza....what was that? Correct or incorrect ratings? I thought that this would be a unanimous thing but how stupid was I to think that people who play and make a baseball game for a living could get the most popular players ratings correct.

8/27/2019 2:47PM PDT

They for sure look at slugging and extra base hits; not just HR. Ozzie Smith has a 62 power vs LH and the dude had 28 career HR. Makes LS low power for Lindor and Betts even more ridiculous! SS cards are so stupid.

8/27/2019 3:39PM PDT

Is there honestly someone alive that isn't a troll that thinks Griffey should have less power than Piazza. Let's just get straight to the point here. Yes or no. Are we allowed to post poll questions on here?

8/27/2019 4:10PM PDT

Not only are the numbers strictly fantasy, the gap between Griffey's power and Piazza's power is negligent. It's not like those handful of points are going to affect the outcome of a game

8/27/2019 4:26PM PDT

So that's 1 for a yes for Jr. having less power. Congratulations 🎉👏. You should never be allowed to watch baseball again.

8/27/2019 6:46PM PDT

I always thought they used iso for power and Griffey has a handful of seasons over 300 while piazza has none.

They dont take any particular season with Sig series cards. It is an accumulation of their best seasons.

Looking at their career stats the ratings seem pretty accurate.

Griffey Jr has 114 PWR compared to Piazzas 109. VS lefties those numbers basically flip flop, but of course they faced far less lefties, hence Griffey had more HR in his prime seasons.  All the numbers seem to make sense.

Not sure what you mean by Piazza having more Power. Unless you are looking at solely Vs Lefties which is pretty silly.

Piazza did hit a HR every 15 AB vs lefties Griffey every 18.55 AB.

8/27/2019 7:06PM PDT

Why does it give an age then? How many seasons? Which seasons? Piazza never hit more than 40 HRs in a season, Griffey did that 5 times....wtf are you talking about? It's called aggregate power. Jesus Christ career at-bats vs. lefties? Tf? you just said their "best" seasons.

Why are you so invested in these particular stats

8/27/2019 9:08PM PDT

Also Griffey had max 125 power vs. Lefties last year and 116 vs. Righties, so which seasons were used for that card? Or are we just changing the grading system every year because we have no idea what we're doing?

8/27/2019 9:23PM PDT

Is that a real question......... seriously? It's Griffey........

This year is an average of their best seasons last year was the best they ever did in a single season. And seriously chill out you’re acting like a douche.

Which seasons and how many?
