A) They dont have his rights B) Theyd be ridiculously expensive.

8/23/2019 12:06PM PDT

No. Probably for the same reason as Mantle. Only difference is I don't give a damn about Jeter.

8/23/2019 12:15PM PDT

Nope pretty much everyone knows why.

8/23/2019 12:23PM PDT

Prob cause he’s overrated and a terrible fielder, who would use him anyways?

Wow, he won four team based awards, and a bunch of fan voted awards.

8/23/2019 2:18PM PDT

How does this work? Does the mlbpa lose rights to certain players? Can players buy their own rights? And do people like Pete Rose and Jose Canseco get kicked out of the players’ association and that’s why they’re not in baseball games? I don’t know. I bet if SDS asked Jeter nicely, he’d let them use his likeness...

When a player retires, his rights belong to him and him only. SDS has to buy their rights directly from them, for whatever price the player wants. A player like jeter is probably asking for a ton of money, and SDS probably doesn’t want to shell out that much money for him right now.

I'd argue Jeter is the most overrated player in history from a pure talent standpoint. I believe his greatness as a player came from his presence as a leader and a constant worker on the field.

That's not entirely true. When they retire they do own there own rights, however if they join the MLB Alumni association there is another group licensing deal they can join. The same with the Hall of Fame. I seriously doubt that SDS has 160 or whatever individual deals for former player. They can get a group deal much like with the MLBPA through both the Hall of Fame and the MLB alumni association

Maybe somebody could start a gofundme page for SDS to help pay for the rights of some of these players we’d like to see. If someone were especially resourceful, I bet one could find out how much the rights would be for some of these absent players.

They would need to raise the clutch attribute to 1,000.

I hate the yankees first and foremost. Derek Jeter had over 200 hits in a season 8 times. He obviously was a pretty good hitter. A slightly above average fielder who lost his ability to play Shortstop as he aged. He was good. Maybe not great. But he was good. And he played everyday. Staying healthy and being a professional is an attribute in itself. Let's not shame a pretty good big leaguer. We should actually Shame guys who we know actually sucked.  I'm not necessarily responding to you just quoted you to add context bud

True, SDS does love releasing useless cards. Why would anyone use him over Omar vizquel?

Career .310 hitter with almost 3,500 hits isnt over rated. Calling jeter one of the best short stops of all time isnt over rating him lmfao statistically he is.

You say that as if ifs a “gotcha moment” when in reality thats just how utterly amazing A-rod was. You jeter haters are hilarious lol the guy is a cultural icon with the statistics and hardware to back it all up

8/23/2019 5:08PM PDT

Yeah, but if his top qualities are "leadership and teamwork" instead of "hitting and fielding", then it matters that he made the team actively worse by demanding the team placate his ego.

His only flaw as a person was pride, not everyone is perfect. Also hitting was 100% his top quality lol stop making garbage up
