i wish SDS would explain the logic behind Arenado's fielding stat. guy only made 14 errors all last year and he gets like an 82 fielding stat but matt chapman gets 99 fielding stat and he made 20 errors last season. just doesn't add up

Arenado with the 80 fielding rating is perplexing to say the least. I'll concede he shouldn't be rated as high as Chapman, even though the Rockies fan in me doesn't want to admit it. But 80? Get out of here with that.

Because fielding percentage, or errors made is a terrible way to rate how good a player is defensively.. Chapman destroyed him last year in every meaningful defensive stat. UZR, DRS, dWAR, etc.

Chapman was historically good.

No one is saying that he should be higher rated than Chapman, just that he shouldn't be rated so low.
